Overview[]

The Geneva Conventions is a set of war laws created on September 12, 2015 by OwlCharles and DONREPANOCHA . They include justified reasons to declare war, civilian rights, and banned weapons in war. They are based on International Humanitarian Law. Any violation of the Geneva Conventions is considered a war crime.

Geneva Conventions[]

Fundamental to the Geneva Conventions are the following two principles: 1.The protection of persons who are not, or are no longer participating in hostilities; and 2.The rights of parties to an armed conflict to choose methods and means of warfare is not unlimited.

Article 1.

1. The use of missiles or bombs that cause excessive damage to infrastructure or wilderness is prohibited.

2. The use of biological weapons that cause damage to those not involved in the conflict or are uncontrollable are banned.

3. Any and all national or international landmarks and monuments are not to be targeted during conflict.

Article 2.

War must not be declared unless an act or situation provoking or justifying war occurs. These include but are not limited to:

a) Assassination of a major official

b) Bombing of a town or nation's territory

c) Claiming too close to any town

d) Theft of a town or nation's resources

e) Trespassing inside any town or nation multiple times

f) Attempting to or successfully recruiting towns inside a nation to harm that nation

g) Attempting to or successfully recruiting members inside a town to harm that town

h) Griefing of a town or nation

I) Violation of the Geneva Conventions

Article 3.

1. Parties to an armed conflict are required to distinguish, at all times, between civilians and combatants and between civilian objects and military objectives. 2. An attack may not be launched if it is anticipated to cause incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians, or damage to civilian objects that would be excessive in relation to the direct military advantage anticipated. 3. Additional principles include the duty to take precautions to spare the civilian population before and during an attack, the prohibition against infliction of unnecessary suffering or superfluous injury, and the prohibition of indiscriminate attacks.
