The Great Towny Glitch of 2015 was an event that happened on 29 May 2015, around 8:00 PM UTC. All towns and nations were suddenly deleted, losing all their claims and money that had been deposited into them. Panic soon followed, as players scrambled to reclaim cities and gain power. Some cities, such as Mandalay, were looted and destroyed in the ensuing chaos. This glitch caused a lot of problems to the economy, as well as disinterest among players. The Glitch is considered to mark the beginning of the end of the Second Era for the server. Several votes were put up to reset the server, all of which won, and on 29 June 2015 the sever was reset, only one month after the glitch.
The resulting glitch caused a server-wide power vacuum to consume the server as players quickly scrambled to reclaim their lost lands and defend their valuables from marauding bandits. The prominent city of Madrid was hit particularly hard, as the town was only finally returning to its previous state a similar glitch which only wiped Madrid occurred in April 2015.
