The Holy Roman Empire (HRE) was a nation created by Byzant77 on 8 July 2022, during the Ninth Era. It was one of the main powers early on in the Ninth Era. The HRE would disband on 8 September 2022, following a vote by its members to create the United States of America.
History[]
Beginnings[]
The Holy Roman Empire's origins began before the beginning of the Ninth Era, when its leader, Byzant77, began to organize a coalition of players under the idea of forming the HRE. The founding members of the HRE included the Archduchy of Austria, the Kingdom of Saxony, the Imperial Territory of Mecklenburg, and the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands.
Involvement in the Greco-Roman War[]
Shortly after announcing neutrality in the coming conflict between Greece and Rome, Byzant would be killed by Goot, after Goot wrongly believed Byzant was accompanying another player in the end. This would change not just Byzant's, but the entire Empire's opinion on joining in on the war, and they soon announced that they would mobilize for war to defend Rome. Rome promised the empire security, items, and land in return for their help, something that the HRE could not pass up.
On the day of the war, the Roman Empire and its emperor Zqben, who had claimed to have the advantage, was quickly routed from Greece and forced to defend the town of Sicily. It was at this time that a member of the Roman government sent a message to Byzant to begin organizing to defend Rome. However, only a few minutes later, Zqben would message Byzant to inform him all hope was lost, and that Greece would overwhelm the empire in a short amount of time. Byzant had already seen this coming and had ordered the Holy Roman Expeditionary Force back to Vienna. This was the best course of action taken, as they had not been technically involved in the war and didn't need to worry about an attack from Greece. The war would end with Rome disbanding. Zqben would flee to Austria to avoid capture, but would be banned only a short while after.
The war would not be a total loss for the HRE though. With the fall of Rome and ban of Zqben, Byzant would use this turmoil to crown himself as the legitimate Roman emperor. The Empire would also use this time to plan its future conquest of the cities of New Avalon and Rome itself. It would also see the opening of relations between Greece and the HRE, after Byzant and Goot had a meeting that resulted in the two European powers leaving on good terms. Goot would also apologize for the killing Byzant, and explain that it was a misunderstanding.
Early Expansion and Colonialism[]
The HRE would begin its main colonial expansion on 12 July 2022, with the establishment of a colony in New Orleans. Over the next few days, two more colonies would pop up, those being Samoa and Corsica. These colonies were rather small, but New Orleans in particular became a rather important colony for Austria. An ultimatum would be sent to the already established city of New Orleans to either join or be subjugated, to which they promptly denied, forcing the HRE's hand. However, New Orleans leader would become inactive, and the city would eventually fall to bankruptcy. New Orleans is planned to be a city that new citizens will be made to move to and populate. The other two colonies became science colonies, with Samoa being focused on Movecraft and Corsica being the nation's Slimefun lab run by ScarryHarry_. These two colonies though, would prove of little use and would be abandoned, with Corsica being sold to the Yamashi empire for only $700.
On 20 July, Byzant would receive a message from the leader of Constantinople, Craify, requesting to join the HRE due to fears that Greece would attempt to conquer the city or that another outside threat would want it. Byzant would accept and Constantinople would join Austria, quickly seeing funds funneled in and growth in the following days.
The next day, Byzant would reach out to the leader of his ally, the Great Lakes Empire, to strike a deal that would result in them joining the HRE as a crown colony. The Great Lakes Empire would be reorganized into Austrian North America and would encompass (at the time of its founding) large swaths of Michigan, small parts of Canada, and Minnesota. The colony would also expand to New York on the night of 23 July, after the Vienna Conference.
Other than Austrian colonies, the Netherlands has small colonial holdings in the Caribbean, on the island of Curaçao.
The England Crisis[]
After the establishment of the Kingdom of England-Normandy, a small nation would be founded by Colorking just north of it, called West London. The city state would regularly come into conflict with the HRE due to land claims and border disputes. But tensions would reach their peak when on 15 July 2022, after Colorking began attempting to encircle the Kingdom of England-Normandy, an ultimatum would be sent by Byzant demanding the end to claiming in England by Colorking and West London, under the threat of war. Colorking would reluctantly accept and negotiations would begin to be held between Byzant and leader of West London. The meeting lasted about 20 minutes before it was decided that West London would be moved up to northern England, and had until 9:00 PM EST to do so. Colorking would inform his people, who became outraged and demanded not to leave, but it was too late. While they preparing to leave, Colorking returned to the HRE with a new offer, West London would completely abandon the British Isles in return for an extra two hours of time to leave. This offer was accepted and the West Londoners would begin to leave their nation. A few would leave and seek refuge in places such as Riga, but most left to create the Kingdom of Maine.
The Austrian-Sicilian Conflict[]
The HRE would find itself in conflict with the Kingdom of Two Sicilies, run by Rooster9475634, after Rooster decided to enact a plan to play three of the European powers against each other. After leaving the HRE, Rooster began feeding false information to both Byzant and Yolky. After Rooster attempted to get them to fight in Sicily, Byzant and Yolky spoke to each other and realized what occurred. They then both turned against Rooster and informed him that they planned to declare war. Rooster would then attempt to return to the HRE, but would be denied and declared outlawed in the nation.
On 29 July 2022, the HRE declared war against the Kingdom of Two Sicilies. When the set war time finally came around, Rooster9475634 did not long on, forcing an automatic surrender and deletion of the town. The deletion of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies and its capital would not go unnoticed, as while the HRE and Great Britain were looting, members from Ordos showed up to raid Marsala, the capital of Sicily. After noticing a number of players in Marsala, 8ds, the co-mayor of Ordos, began flying over and throwing Mining Fatigue potions on them. Some of the HRE and Great Britain would respond by attacking the members of Ordos, but would die in the process.

Government Structure[]
The HRE is organized in a manner that ensures that all member towns can act independently as their own, smaller nations, however, all members of the HRE share a collective foreign policy, can unite their armies into a single fighting force when necessary, and pay tribute to the Kaiser via a nation tax.
On the 18 July 2022, The Imperial Council voted 5-0 on forming a constitution for the Empire.
Colonialism[]
The Vienna Conference[]
The Vienna Conference took place on the 23 July 2022, and saw delegates from Austria, Saxony, Holland, Maine, The Territory of the Kerguelen Islands, The Kingdom of Two Sicilies, The Kingdom of Hungary, Cascadia, Greece, Gotland and later on delegates from the Caribbean Empire meeting in Vienna to discuss the partition and colonization of Africa.

The meeting started with the Austrian delegation staking claim to their already present colony of Egypt and their new colonies of Austrian Nigeria, Somaliland, and Southern Africa. Next would be the Territory of the Kerguelen Islands, who did not ask for much, but received some islands north and west of Madagascar. Next the delegates of Maine would stake claim to the Egyptian desert, a portion of Angola and South Africa in addition to any islands around that area. That claim was swiftly denied and Maine would receive their Egyptian land and part of Angola. The next delegates to stake claims would be those of Gotland, who asked for and received the coast of Libya. They would promptly leave this claim as Gotland joined the HRE and would give this claim to the city of Istanbul.
The next and most controversial delegate to speak, was that of the Duchy of Saxony. Saxony would demand large swaths of the Sahara desert, including all land from Senegal up to Algeria. They would also demand Madagascar, ignoring the already established Order of the Stone, who lived on the island. All other delegates would deny these claims with the delegate of the Kerguelen Islands stating, "You cannot afford your town, let alone a large colonial empire". The Saxon delegate would understand this and would only receive a small chunk of Morocco. Up next was the delegate from the Two Sicilies, who asked for Algeria and Tunisia, as they had plans there and an already established colony in Tunisia. This would be accepted. Finally, The Netherlands, lead by GymSock17, asked for and received claims on the Cape of Good Hope and the Gold Coast.
With the conference ending and borders finalizing, the prime minster of Maine, Orgasmo would begin to feel as though his nation had been cheated. He believed that Maine deserved more and that every nation was there just to make a fool of him and his nation. Every delegate, even the king of Maine would tell Orgasmo that he needed to calm down. Byzant believed that Maine should be grateful for what they received as "Maine was not even on the first list of nations to be invited".
After the conference ended the Caribbean empire would ask for colonies, as they could not attend, and they were granted all islands on the west coast of Africa, and a swath of land in the Congo. The Yamashi empire would also be invited but would not accept colonies, as they could not afford them at the time.

New world Colonialism[]
After the Vienna conference, there would be a time of rampant colonial expansion across the new world from many HRE states. Austrian north America would be established and used as a base for Austrian colonial ambitions in the northern US and Canada. They would begin outposts in Michigan, New York, the Michigan panhandle and later, Canada. The Canadian territory would be annexed after the Austro-Canadian war. The city of New Orleans would be used as a base for expansion into the Caribbean, which after their civil war started by Fauxborisvv, would be made into the first member of the Common wealth, which is a group of nations that had the Austrian emperor as their head of state. This would last for 3 weeks, until Renwiz123, seeing the cracks begin to form in the union, would reach out to Byzant and request to join the HRE. He would be accepted and be allowed to become king of Hanover and while owning his territory of Cuba and Nicaragua, which was split between the two nations at the time.
Middle eastern Colonialism[]
The HRE has 2 main holdings in the middle east, those being Istanbul and Babylon. These towns would at first be considered colonies, but after time would be made into full states of the HRE, with Babylon in particular being given claim to all former Babylonian land. Istanbul would be given the islands of Cyprus and Rhodes, along with being given permission to take all Turkish lands.
Both of these towns would later on leave the empire, with Babylon going inactive, and Istanbul rebelling, returning, but then leaving on good terms with the empire after betraying Bossman.
On August 28, 2022, the HRE supported the invoking of the Kingdom of Jerusalem onto Romania's, owned by Brody0727, land claims in Israel, which was in the process of being established. There was a gigantic scramble between Jerusalem and Israel on who could claim more land, but eventually it was established for the border to be approximately where the Kingdom of Judah and Israel's borders were in real life. Byzant77 harassed Brody several more times to give up his claims, even threatening a war with his nation, Ordus, but no further action was taken.
Military Operations[]
Operation Euthanization[]
Under the guidance of HRE leadership, a mission was put forth to eliminate the leader of the Islamic State. Under blessing from the Pope, this operation began with a deployment of a naval ship to the Red Sea from which an assault team was launched and begin a combat-reconnaissance operation on a compound in north western Saudi Arabia.
This initial operation proved unfruitful in combat engagements but bountiful in the intelligence sector. While the information received on this first deployment is still classified, the Austrian Intelligence Agency (AIA) was able to build on this intel. The HRE was able to determine that the Islamic State had territory in North America. This intel lead to a second deployment (Euthanization-2) to North America during which the strike-team remained undetected and uncontested and was able to seize a horse from the compound.
On the third and final deployment (Euthanization-3), the AIA, in their hunt for MrDog (aka Abu Bakr al-Bagdoggy) the leader of the Islamic State, found him in the Tibetan Plateau, at which point the strike team was deployed and with swift action, MrDog was eliminated. After the Completion of the primary goal of the Operation, the Emperor of Austria, Byzant77 made a speech. The following is an excerpt of said speech:
"At approximately 6:31 PM EST, me and @Beanman were able to track, locate and execute the leader of Isis Abu Bakr Al-Mr.Dogo. He has led Isis, a disgusting terrorist organization for almost 5 days at this point, and after I located him, hiding away like a coward in the Himalayas, me and Beanman went off to hunt him down. We saw him, hiding away in a valley near the edge of the mountains, he turned around and with fear in his eyes, he saw the end of his life. I want to say that this is a terrific victory for all HRE citizens and all citizens of MCPE along with them. And to anyone who might try to oppress or cause terror to others, this should be an example as to what will occur afterwards." -Byzant77
Operation Unemployment[]
With the betrayal and break away of Bossman and the Kerguelen islands as a whole, the electors and emperor of the HRE thought of a way to eliminate the new enemy that had just been created, and had been spreading lies and rumors about the HRE and its members. Their opportunity came when Yolky reach out to Byzant informing him of Britain's plan to war the island nation, and asked if the HRE will be joining this war. The members online at the time of this war request were Byzant, Renwiz123, JFK_gaming208, and SkyAvenger5738. These people, along with niuzhon9 later on would go to the islands and help the British, who was made up by Yolky81, moonboyoverlord, RillagGG and princepeep. They would descend onto the island at around 8:30 pm EST, and the war ended around 9:00pm, with Boss's rage quit and abandonment of his town. The operation did not get much for the empire, except a large stash of wood, amounting to almost 8 double chests full of jungle wood.
