Manual of Style

General Rules

  • In general, the content of an article should be written in a style appropriate for an encyclopedia.
  • Articles must be categorized correctly.
  • Article titles, unless for very specific reasons, must be written with proper spelling and grammar.
  • Colloquialisms and slang are generally not advised.
  • English is preferred for this Wikia. Use of different varieties of English is fully allowed.
  • Do not put empty paragraphs or sections on any pages.
  • Do not overlink. If a page is linked, it should only appear once. You can use the link again, but only if the prior link is very far up the page, or it is being used in a place that it is required (ex. a list).
  • All links added to pages must direct to somewhere and may not be empty.
  • We advise you use a computer with a mouse for creating and editing articles.
  • Do NOT fabricate information.
  • Try to remove all bias if possible when writing your articles!
  • If a Moderator makes an edit to your page, do not undo it unless there is very good reason to do so.

Infoboxes and Templates

Infoboxes are one of the most important aspects of your page, and will often be the first thing anyone reads. All Town, Nation, Conflict, and Player pages will need one.

We have a few default infoboxes or templates you can choose from for your article, but you are free to make your own if you think they can be improved or better fit your article! Our Templates do not have room for Roleplay information, so if you want to add that, you will need to make your own infobox or use someone else's.

While you are free to make your own infoboxes and pages, if they stray too far from the templates or the norm, the Moderators can edit or delete them. If you're not sure if your page or infobox is alright, contact a Wiki Staff member!

Infobox Templates

More generally, if you're not sure how to create a page, or how to structure it, we also provide template pages for you to use or build off of! We allow you to customize the page as you wish, however there are rules on how far you can venture from the default, and you can see on each template page.

Notices

Some articles will have notices attached to them, which warn or tell the reader about the article. There are currently two types of notices:

The Over-Complicated Notice:

Bookicon

This page has been over-complicated for effect and detail.
The majority of the superficial aspects of this page will not have much effect in actual gameplay.

This notice will appear on pages which are extremely large and detailed. Most often, roleplay pages or nation pages with an immense amount of roleplay will be given this notice. It isn't a bad thing to have this notice, and we hope you take it with pride, knowing that your page is considered extremely detailed!

The Evolving Page Notice:

This is an evolving page, you do not need to read through the whole article to understand its content.

You may use this page as inspiration, or take any section of this page and adapt or change it for your own purposes. This page is not the final authority of its content, and we encourage you to add on to it.

This notice will appear on pages which are quickly changing, pages whose content can be interpreted in different ways, or pages with content that is encouraged to be added on to. Articles like active and large religions will earn this notice.

The Template Notice:

This page is a Template!.
You are free to copy this page, and use it to make your own page! You can also copy it to improve it. Do not edit this page specifically!

This notice will appear on pages which are templates. You are free to copy Template pages to use for yourself, or copy them to improve on them.
