The Netherlands, officially the Dutch Republic, is a member state of the Holy Roman Empire in the Ninth Era. It's Head of State, the Stadtholder, is GymSock17.
Beginnings[]
As the beginning of the Ninth Era approached, GymSock17 was continuing to ponder where he'd settle next. He decided he wanted to settle somewhere in Europe but was unsure as to where he'd like to be. One evening, a player named Byzant77 messaged Gym on Discord with an offer: to join his nation he was forming, the Holy Roman Empire. Gym accepted, and eventually chose to be Stadtholder of the Netherlands, and by extension, all of the Low Countries region.
Foundation[]
With the release of Era 9 on the 8th of July, 2022, Gym was there from the moment the gates opened. He entered through the "Europe" Portal at the World Spawn, and ended up in southern Norway, near the Swedish border. Only a fairly short distance to his destination, it did not take long for Gym to arrive at his intended home, and founded his city of Amsterdam.
